Awarding Scholarships to
Deserving Men and Women and Promoting Academic Excellence Since 1988
The Girl Friends Fund, Inc (GFF, Inc.) was incorporated on February 22, 1988, to provide financial assistance and mentoring for college bound students who demonstrate financial need. All members of The Girl Friends, Inc. are members of the Girl Friends Fund, Inc. We are one team with one mission: To provide access to higher education to young women and young men from low income and underrepresented communities.

The first scholarships were awarded in 1995 and since that time, The Fund has processed over 800 scholarship applications and granted an estimated million dollars of financial assistance. Our scholars have graduated from Ivy League universities, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), and other institutions of higher learning nationwide.
In recent years, the Fund has provided 15 academic scholarships annually of $1,500 per year for 4 years. Each Chapter is encouraged to submit the names and credentials of deserving students to be considered during this competitive process. The Baltimore Chapter is proud of the 11 scholar recipients from the Baltimore Area who have received this distinction.

The Girl Friends proudly serve their communities in many capacities—as authors, professors, doctors, lawyers, corporate executives, business owners, congressional members, teachers, entrepreneurs, wives and mothers, and as advocates for the betterment of our communities.
